Leslie Hielema is the Vice President of the Orlando Center at Florida Institute of Technology where she focuses on growing the impact and presence of the university across Central Florida. Leslie has a unique combination of technical knowledge and business expertise ranging from new product development to entrepreneurial ecosystems to classified government contracts both stateside and in global markets.
Leslie holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan; an M.S. in Management from Boston University; and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering as well as a pilot’s license from the Florida Institute of Technology.
Leslie served as AT&T’s Director of New Product Development for Europe, Middle East and Africa and had the opportunity to live in Europe for 10 years, residing in Rome, Brussels and Aix-en-Provence.
Leslie managed diverse teams of engineers and scientists with ProLogic, Inc. developing net-centric 3D geospatial software systems for the warfighter. She held a top secret security clearance for her work with the Navy Seals.
Leslie served as the immediate past President of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce and led a “4 Star” Chamber for four years.
